The Tohoku Chapter of the Japan Diabetes Society is committed to improving diabetes medical care by disseminating new information about the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diabetes to member physicians, co-medical staff involved in diabetes education, and diabetes patients in the six prefectures of the Tohoku region. We are pleased to announce that the head of our chapter, Dr. Yoshimoto Oka, was elected chairman of the 50th Annual Meeting of the Japan Diabetes Association. Dr. Oka is a professor and is credited with many scientific achievements in diabetes research. With Dr. Oka in a national leadership position this year, the Tohoku Chapter expects to contribute not only to the improvement of diabetology and diabetes medical care in the Tohoku region, but also to the advancement of diabetology throughout Japan and the world.
