Kinki Chapter
The Kinki Chapter represents five prefectures, Shiga, Kyoto, Nara, Wakayama, and Osaka, and a total of some 3,500 individual members, making it the second largest chapter after the Kanto-Koshinetsu Chapter. About 2,000 people participate in the Regional Annual Meeting, where medical specialists from the Chapter enjoy an active exchange of expertise and opinions. Advancement in diabetes treatments cannot be expected without progress in both basic and clinical research. From this point of view, the exchange of opinion at the Annual Meeting is particularly important. In cooperation with the Japan Medical Association and the Japan Association for Diabetes Education and Care, the JDS Kinki Chapter has been providing people in each prefecture with important information concerning diabetes.
